Someone Special

The darkness of night falls heavy
when you're alone.
The stars come out
but they're cold.
They don't sparkle,
they just stare down
with an emptiness that depresses me.

If you could be here
I wouldn't be like this.
If I could just hold your hand
and feel you by my side
it would make all the difference.
Whether you realize it or not,
you do so much to brighten up my day
and shed a light of hope
in my dark and lonely nights.

I need you near me.
